Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003 -- 7:57 pm I had a meeting with the Early Intervention people today to amend the boys' IFSPs to add ABA therapy. They will be starting center-based therapy on about January 5th for 2-1/2 hours a day/5 days a week. They increased some of their home-based therapies and added some. They will be getting PT either 2x or 3x/week for 30 minutes each depending on their therapist's schedule. They will both now be getting Special Instruction 5x/week for 2 hours/day. They've separating the speech and the feeding therapies -- speech will be 5x/week for 1 hour/day and feeding will stay at 3x/week for 30 minutes/day. They will also be adding OT at 5x/week for 1 hour/day. So we're gonna be very busy I went and toured the school today. It's really nice. Right now, they have 2 EI classrooms and 3 preschool classrooms. They're adding a 3rd EI classroom in January. They boys will be in this one. It's 10 kids to a class with 1 teacher and 1 assistant. The preschool rooms are 8 - 10 kids with 1 teacher and 2 assistants. They will be getting bused there and back and it's pretty close. It's about 2-1/2 miles from my house. Our service coordinator also helped me fill out the SSI applications for them so that will help some over here. Those are the most confusing and complicated forms I've ever seen. LOL So overall, it was a very busy and productive day today.
